Canvas and Blackboard Learn

Canvas and Blackboard Learn are both Learning Management Systems (LMS).  It is helpful to remember that each serve basically the same function.  Each has its own unique style and feel, but remember that they are both designed to do the same things, deliver course content.  Understanding this can help in making the transition from one to the other.

This document will highlight ways in which they are similar. The website as a whole provides you explicit guides on how to use the Canvas LMS. An additional Helpful Links page is designed specifically for history faculty wanting to add links and guides that are discipline specific.

The blog offers some tips and tricks along with a few "gotchas" when using Canvas, both for you and your students.  Additionally a very short questionnaire is provided to help me determine what was useful, what can be improved upon, and what should be added to the website in the future in the survey page.

Thank you for your support and I hope this helps make your Blackboard to Canvas (or vice versa) transition successful!
